Submit your Mutual Rescue story by October 15
Submit StoryKimo’s conservative religious upbringing caused him to struggle mightily with the early understanding that he was gay. After coming out, he adopts a shelter dog, Jazz, who becomes his life support as Kimo cares for his ailing father, volunteers with Salt Lake City’s unsheltered community, and co-founds a humanitarian nonprofit for people and their companion animals during times of crisis.
For those who have loved and lost a companion animal, Mutual Rescue created two Memorial Montages of photography, poetry, and music—timeless messages from the spirits of a dog and cat.
You are welcome to request Mutual Rescue films for off-line events to benefit an approved animal-welfare organization in your community.
We are currently seeking Mutual Rescue stories for our films, social media, and website. If you’ve been saved by a companion animal you rescued, we’d love to hear from you!
