Abandoned in the desert, a litter of puppies survived only because Churchill Animal Protection Society (CAPS) in Fallon, Nevada, cared for them until they could be adopted. One of the pups, Sammy, found a loving home with a young boy named Roan. The life-changing bond they formed from first encounter helped them cope with dyslexia and restricted mobility.
