Mutual Rescue™ announces its Call for Mutual Rescue Stories 2017
April 5 – June 30, 2017
Through authentic storytelling, Mutual Rescue demonstrates that when people help animals, their own lives can be transformed too—often in miraculous ways.
Our pilot film, “Eric & Peety,” has had more than 88 million online views in the past year. The New York Times cited it as California’s #1 news-site video of 2016.
It is the essence of the story that is most important, especially how the pet rescued the human. To be as inclusive as possible, the quality of writing is not a factor in selection. Judges evaluate stories for their mutual-rescue narrative, emotional impact and originality.
Mutual Rescue will share selected stories in film, print, and online. Four stories, based in the United States, will be made into short films for release in 2018. Stories from outside the U.S. will be considered for print and online publications but not for film. Final selections will be announced in the fall of 2017.
